A Short History of Projects
01 > Seth Godin
PROJECT/PROGRAM DIRECTOR, CULTURE & DIGITAL COMMUNITY ARCHITECT
I’ve worked side by side with 19-Time New York Times Best-Selling Author and marketing and leadership guru, Seth Godin to build the altMBA — which strives to revolutionize the future of education.
We started with an inaugural class and a framework of what might just work at scale.
I was tasked to make it happen.
In just over 3 years, blueprints for an online leadership workshop became a thriving digital business and vibrant community — generating multi-millions of dollars in revenue and graduating thousands of students worldwide.
I helped to design and execute all business and product operations, including a world-class and beloved company work culture, organizational process and policies, workshops, the launch of our Global Coach Summit and much more.
I also created and managed a global remote team of 80+ from scratch, while leading an online active community of over 3300+ alumni students in 45 different countries and 642 cities.
The team would later come together as a group nominate me for Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2017 and 2018 for the creation and leadership of our one-of-a-kind work culture.
02 > Little Big Words
MANAGING PARTNER & PRINCIPAL ILLUSTRATOR
I set out to pursue a life-long dream of being an illustrator.
I embedded my hand-drawn cast of characters at the heart of a multi-product company for kids of all ages, designed to be a tribute to possibility and the imagination of childhood.
I earned my start after being selected as one of Canada’s top artists to exhibit at the One of a Kind Show and the National Stationery Show in New York City.
After countless hours of love and dedication, it evolved into a fully-integrated brand and product line with a licensed retail solution and worldwide customers.
03 > Sid Lee
INTEGRATED ACCOUNT MANAGER
I joined creative powerhouse Sid Lee as they opened the doors to their very first atelier in Toronto, managing a portfolio of multiple accounts and leading various projects — including helping to onboard one of the largest clients in Canadian advertising history.
From social to digital, broadcast to events, I teamed up with clients, creatives and architects while growing a team of coordinators, helping them bring their visions to life, on time, on budget — while advocating for the best work.
04 > Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment
BRAND & PARTNERSHIP MARKETING COORDINATOR
I was part of the team that launched Toronto FC from business blueprints, transforming the way that soccer is experienced in North America — earning the industry’s top honours.
Toronto FC as a startup stormed out of the gates, breaking industry records in over a dozen categories.
From leading marketing campaigns to overseeing brand design, to project management for over 20,000+ fans and ticket sales, to special event planning and opening a stadium from a construction site — we did it all.
We set out to start a soccer team in Toronto — but ended up changing the entire landscape of North American soccer and revitalizing Major League Soccer.
After so many false starts in the Toronto market, authentic football — not soccer, made it across the ocean.
“Kelli’s dedication to massive change, radically transparent communication, and role-modeling behavior and discipline found in only the top one percent of leaders.”
“Kelli is a humble servant leader capable of building outstanding teams and outstanding products, but most importantly, she builds culture.
In her role as Provost — and quite frankly as founder and CEO of altMBA, Kelli Wood built an extremely high performing team, a massively impactful product, and a worldwide community of alumni that continue to thrive due to her work.
In an industry where eighty percent of my expenses are related to people, I cannot overstate how important this is and how difficult it is to find.
Kelli understands the value of human connection and the impact of investing in people on the path to developing culture and management systems. Kelli single handedly built a management system that, to this day, allows the altMBA to function across multiple time zones with employees and students stretching across the globe. Hundreds of detailed tasks are completed flawlessly due to her skill in design, technology, and accountability. Though this work would not happen if not for the investments she makes in people. Kelli is an expert in building engagement, enrollment, and dedication to a cause that reaches well beyond herself.
With great pride, I would recommend Kelli Wood for the utmost consideration for any leadership role with which she would take great interest.”
